Carmela Castrejón Diego

Carmela Castrejón Diego is a visual artist whose work includes interdisciplinary installations and the use of mixed medias. Internationally her work has exhibited at the Sydney Biennial, Australia, and Venice, Italy. Her photographic essays have shown in Spain, South Africa, and Australia. As a photographer collaborates with media and organizations (NGO’s) on both sides of the border, Mexico/U.S.A. Founder and member of Factor X, a binational organization that works with women from the maquila industry. From 1990 to 1995 member of Border Art Workshop/Taller de Arte Fronterizo (BAW/TAF). From 1990 to 1993 member of Las Comadres, a woman’s group of artists and scholars, Tijuana/San Diego.
